Gammas scatter from electrons (electron recoil), while heavy neutral
particles (such as neutrons and WIMPs) scatter from the nucleus
(nuclear recoil).

Calibration data will look like the above figure. In this way, the discrimination between
electron and nuclear recoils, based on y = log10(S2/S1), is possible.
